ok here's an antidote: Tibetan dream yoga. It is essentially recognizing your sleep state, ludic dreaming and even mastery - changing the dream content. Just recognizing that you are dreaming will take the emotion out of it. It requires some determination and intense mindfulness but it's free and a better mental engagement than fearing sleep.
