Many biologically active compounds occur in D and L isomers. Generally, and in this case, the D-isomer is the natural one. Best not to confuse you cell biochemistry with a "mirror image".

I see various products for sale, including N-Acetyl D-Glucosamine. Noting the earlier comments about D- and L-Glucosamine. This product has the D-, but I'd like to know whether the N-Acetyl aspect would be beneficial, or at least neutral, with regard to efficacy. Thanks in advance.

Walter, is D-Glucosamine different from "standard" Glucosamine supplements? For example, does this product qualify? https://www.nowfoods.com/products/supplements/glucosamine-1000-veg-capsules

Thanks very much! Peace.

Informative article. Many thanks for sharing….

D-Glucosamine has shown to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 replication and infection through several mechanisms.

1. Interference with viral entry: D-Glucosamine has been found to interfere with the binding of the viral spike protein to the ACE2 receptor,.

2. Inhibition of glycosylation: D-Glucosamine inhibits the glycosylation of viral proteins. By inhibiting glycosylation, D-Glucosamine can disrupt the proper formation & function of viral proteins, ultimately impairing viral replication.

3. Modulation of host immune response: D-Glucosamine has been shown to enhance the host's immune response to viral infections. It can do this by promoting the production of cytokines and chemokines, that can help the host's immune system to better combat the virus…
