It appears various spices, herbs and plants, such as Cinnamon, Turmeric, Dandelion, Licorice, Fennel Seed, Pine Needles, etc, are just waiting to save our lives.
Interesting. We have a family recipe been around forever that we always have made when people are sick with cold , flu etc. A mixture of apricot nectar, pineapple juice , apple cider ( not juice), orange juice and cinnamon stix ( 3 whole) and 12 whole cloves simmered. The steam from it is great andthe warm drink taste good and always seems to help esp with chest congestion. I make it for friends as well.

"Patients without PACS showed recovered gut microbiome profile at 6 months comparable to that of non-COVID-19 controls. Gut microbiome of patients with PACS were characterised by higher levels of Ruminococcus gnavus, Bacteroides vulgatus and lower levels of Faecalibacterium prausnitzii.
Persistent respiratory symptoms were correlated with opportunistic gut pathogens, and neuropsychiatric symptoms and fatigue were correlated with nosocomial gut pathogens, including Clostridium innocuum and Actinomyces naeslundii (all p<0.05).
Butyrate-producing bacteria, including Bifidobacterium pseudocatenulatum and Faecalibacterium prausnitzii showed the largest inverse correlations with PACS at 6 months.

Everything starts w/the gut. Healthy gut, healthy life. It is hard work and challenging to achieve when the diets of the culture have been what they have been.
I have no clue what I just read, but I do know it has to be organic Ceylon cinnamon. I love the stuff. I sprinkle in my coffee, Kefir, toast, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, and whatever else.
1/4 cup organic raw honey, 1/8 teaspoon of black pepper, 3 tablespoons of turmeric. Mix in a sealed container. Have a tablespoon a day. I like to add a splash of ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) a hefty sprinkle of Ceylon, and some ginger to the mix.
****You need to use a non-metal spoon to prevent the breakdown of the enzymes you want from the honey. Some people put it in hot tea or milk. I like it straight up from the spoon.
It is one of the few things that works pretty much immediately. I haven't a clue about the "science" of it. I just know it has helped me a great deal. I love that It is so simple and easy.

Ecellent piece right here Walter! I'll be chewing on a cinamon stick while I set off all of my fireworks Tuesday night.
Have a great 4th!

“We’ve identified distinct gut microbial signatures which could be used for predicting, diagnosing and treating LONG COVID
This is the world’s 1st study to demonstrate the gut microbiota as a key determinant of long COVID”

I have been trying to find info on the best way to increase bifido in the gut. Any suggestions?
Catherine, Codonopsis Root would help increase bifido in the gut. You can probably find it at a place that sells Chinese herbs.

Thank you. I will check my area for a Chinese market and inquire from there.

Beware of the high levels of oxalates in cinnamon!
Love to see this! This is a key ingredient in our amazingly awesome nasal rinse! www.snootspray.com
How can a person test to check for spike load? How can we know the current state within our own body? What tests to do?
Is there any way to compare the amounts that were used in the study as opposed to normal levels of daily consumption that would not be outrageous
Cocoa? The pure cocoa? Will both the cocoa and the cinnamon dissolve in the coffee? I would like to try this.
