One of the few pleasures over the last 2 years has been watching(reading) this scientist do science. By contrast, Science, Inc pales in comparison. The pandemic has revealed much. Some good, some bad, some flat out evil imho. Walter is a diamond! Thanks buddy.

You may not realize that butyrate is something I mentioned to Dmitry Katz and he ran with it. It activates the niacin receptor. A healthy microbiome can make butyrate from resistant starch in the diet

- the Bubble Tea theory about the early CoV statistics (a graph made into a meme by someone) had merit in my opinion. It was circulating early 2020. https://jenniferdepew.com/resistant-starch%2Fbutyrate

Butyrate - so important it got two webpages - https://jenniferdepew.com/rs%2Fbutyrate-how-much%3F

It reduces inflammation, feeds colon cells, protects them from infection or cancer. Eat more fiber!

Addition (the edit) - yes, spike is directly harmful to endothelial cells and is causing damage - yes SPED is not incorrect. Membranes are so important that they also got two webpages: https://jenniferdepew.com/membranes-%26-inflam-1 and Membranes/glyphosate focused https://jenniferdepew.com/membranes - glyphosate messes up actin/microtubule scaffolding hooks that direct activity in cells.

Thank you, dear Walter! Your work is so very much appreciated, and I credit it for being a large part of the help I needed to extricate myself from longhaul covid symptoms and relapses (I became a covid longhauler in February 2020, very early on). I began taking Butyrate and IgG to assist with gut microbiome issues, and I felt tremendous benefit from this course of treatment, which helped me become relapse and symptom free. I am now also benefiting from further use of medical grade probiotics, taking this line of thinking to the next level, and this, along with HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) is currently helping to heal the damage I can visually see in my body in my skin. I am grateful to be a 'canary in the coal mine' with the ability to be on the front line of all this, learning with you, dear Walter, and the longhauler community, what we can do to recover and heal.

Besides inflammation, butyrate may help as it works great as a non carb energy source, which may be oxidized in the mitochondria.

The spike protein seems to alter basic cell energetics, and damaging mitochondria.

We have been told that meat and butter are bad, we need to eat our brown oats for breakfast, fruit through the day, keep up blood sugar stable and mix in some veg for the nutrients.

Since everything we are told is complete nonsense, not just once by the way, but for many years, let's turn diet on its head and question that.

If we just eat meat and butter and nothing else, what happens? Our ketones (hydroxybutyrate) go through the roof, our blood sugar drops and remains stable, and we get all the nutrients needed to feed a body because, well, we are eating bodies (there is even sufficient vitamin c in animal blood in beef steak).

I am biased here, because I have followed a 99% meat diet for 5 years, out of desperation I might add because literally every other way of eating (normal, vegetarian, vegan) left me in pain and misery. The result, is that my health is incredible, all my ailments are gone and even my vegan friends have been forced to re-arrange their biases.

The moral of my story is not to eat meat, that's your choice and its a bit boring, but as a matter of strategy moving forward question literally every assumption we have in our minds because the majority of them have been placed there by propaganda, and it appears to me that all of them are false.

The way out of this dystopian world is to find the truth, and spread it.

Thank you Walter for doing your bit.

Would the Butyrate help with long covid sufferers? Or just for the active covid infection?

.....Walter, did you see my Comment in your previous posting? As I expressed, would VERY much be interested in SHARING insights at greater length based upon similarly-intensive research, contemplation (if of a SLIGHTLY different nature) into biomagnetic effects related to CV-19 and its 'remedies', instruments for attenuation of both - firmly believe there are VITALLY-important considerations, FUNDAMENTAL concerns which have LONG been institutionally overlooked (of course, likely NOT by ACCIDENT) yet to be discussed.....

Curious to know why specifically dexamethasone ... would other corticosteroids be effective at certain doses ? For example, would Prednisone work as well ?

quick google search on butyrate sources

You don’t need to eat foods high in butyrate, you just need to eat foods that feed your gut bacteria. They’re called prebiotics.

Prebiotic foods are rich in dietary fibers. So what you’re looking for are fruit, vegetables, wholegrains, and pulses. Your body can’t digest these fibers, so they travel to your gut where they feed the good bacteria that make butyrate.

Boosting butyrate production isn’t as simple as eating butyrate rich foods. The short-chain fatty acid can be absorbed in the stomach and small intestine, so if you eat butyrate, it wouldn’t travel to your colon where it supports your gut lining and keeps it intact. So, what foods have butyrate boosting powers?

almond apple barley

Chickpea (bengal gram) garlic kiwifruit

maize oat and wheat bran soy

Remember, don’t believe the hype about eating more butter or investing in a butyrate supplement like sodium butyrate. Instead, research shows that consuming prebiotics is an effective and safe way to increase the abundance of butyrate-producing bacteria. as well as other beneficial species. What’s more, improving your gut microbiome with food and increasing butyrate production supports good digestive health.
