This study reminds me of the easential oil formula used in the Moddle Ages to ward off plague Called Theives oil, it contained clove bud oil, lemon oil, cinnamon bark oil, eucalyptus and rosemary. You can find different formulas online and either buy the formula ready prepared or make it yourself by ordering the different oils. It is type of oil that works well in a diffuser or it can be mixed with water and aprayed iinto the air.

No problem with sugar-- this formula is not really designed for ingestion. It is a great fragrance for winter with deep tones.

I have also dabbed this one, diluted with coconut oil into my nostrils before flying or going out in crowds. You probably could mix it into a lip balm. Happy New Year Covid Warriors!

Be warned re sugar free gum, Xylitol can exacerbate or trigger neuropathies.

Pure Cinnamon oil would be better IMHO.

I was going to ask if cinnamon oil does the trick as there is a brand of mints that do have this ingredient as the main one

Thank you for this info Andrew. Having some problems with serious neuropathies for a full year now due to lidocaine injection used as anesthetic for Mohs surgery. Not good.

I’m “ gluten free “and chemically sensitive now. This gum is wonderful, comes in cinnamon too.

( gluten intolerant is probably a reaction to glyphosate and other chemicals, I suspect)

cool! I make wassail every year starting at Thanksgiving. ( Apple, orange, pineapple and apricot juice simmered with 4-5 cinnamon stic, 12 whole cloves). Fills the house with good smells and have always found drinking it helpful with sore throats and colds. So far we haven't gotten this gunk virus so prevalent in the area ( SC). Even though we have been surrounded by it and I am taking care of my elderly parents who have it. Maybe it's the cinnamon in the wassail?? Need to get up another batch!!

Wonder if Clove would do the same?

Happy New Year, Walter. Thank you for all your hard work!

This is purely anecdotal of course, but since reading this article, I realize I have not been sick from the usual colds etc. for over a year. I have been using Spry brand xylitol cinnamon flavored mints and gum during that time. Perhaps it protects from non-spike infections as well.

Well, in the spirit of New Year's Eve, drink Fireball!

Seriously, though, a lot of cinnamon is contaminated with lead. Apparently, cinnamic acid could contain some of the contaminant, depending on which method is used to extract it.
