This is infinitely easier to read on substack than twitter.

i find substack good source, again i never tried twitter or gacebook for that matter.

the challenge with substack is to find the needle in a stack ... to find that gem.

one thing i have found helpful is look at comment and often people would recommend.

also, i have noticed a good marketing technique could be for authors to comment on other stacks ... just a thought.

What are your thoughts about the severe immune-mediated hepatitis outbreaks among young people that have been noted in diverse publications recently?

Very much interested in hearing your thoughts on this phenomenon.

Per the World Health Organization:

On 5 April 2022, WHO was notified of 10 cases of severe acute hepatitis of unknown aetiology in children under the age of 10 years, across central Scotland. By 8 April, 74 cases had been identified in the United Kingdom. Hepatitis viruses (A, B, C, E, and D where applicable) have been excluded after laboratory testing while further investigations are ongoing to understand the aetiology of these cases. Given the increase in cases reported over the past one month and enhanced case search activities, more cases are likely to be reported in the coming days.

On 5 April 2022, the International Health Regulations (IHR) National Focal Point (NFP) for the United Kingdom notified WHO of 10 cases of severe acute hepatitis of unknown aetiology in previously healthy young children (age range: 11 months to five-year-old) across central Scotland. Of these 10 cases, nine had onset of symptoms in March 2022 while one case had an onset of symptoms in January 2022. Symptoms included jaundice, diarrhoea, vomiting and abdominal pain. All 10 cases were detected when hospitalised.

As of 8 April 2022, further investigations across the United Kingdom have identified a total of 74 cases (including the 10 cases) fulfilling the case definition1. The clinical syndrome in identified cases is of acute hepatitis with markedly elevated liver enzymes, often with jaundice, sometimes preceded by gastrointestinal symptoms, in children principally up to 10 years old. Some cases have required transfer to specialist children’s liver units and six children have undergone liver transplantation. As of 11 April, no death has been reported among these cases and one epidemiologically linked case has been detected.

Laboratory testing has excluded hepatitis type A, B, C, and E viruses (and D where applicable) in these cases while Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus type 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and/or adenovirus have been detected in several cases. The United Kingdom has recently observed an increase in adenovirus activity, which is co-circulating with SARS-CoV-2, though the role of these viruses in the pathogenesis (mechanism by which disease develops) is not yet clear."

Also interesting is a letter to the editor which appears in the current J Hepatol (2022 vol 76, p 747). The letter is headlined "Immune mediated hepatitis with the Moderna vaccine, no longer a coincidence, but confirmed."

Very interested to hear your thoughts.

It seems to be adenovirus related, so are the adenovirus-based vaccines implied? Are parents and grandparents creating an enhanced adenovirus that affects younger children? Really concerning …

Not all were found to having been exposed to adenovirus. There is another family of viruses almost everyone has, even little kids. Herpesviruses. I pound my head against the wall often because the answer is right in front of us and we know COVID triggers herpes to reactivate and herpes causes all kinds of supposedly idiopathic diseases. Just look for links in the medical literature. Herpes causes hepatitis.

It's hypotheses like this that make the CCP's insane zero-covid policies seem not-so-insane. There are a few different ways to assess the CCP response, all of them dysfunctional, but I can't help wondering if they know something about this virus that we don't know.

I was literally just thinking this same thought after I watched several Shanghai videos. Many clips were of dead bodies covered in sheets or in boxes, few people on the ground twitching, and even weird skin issues which looked like burn marks? I just remembered that China is ahead of the US by 2-3 months in terms of large numbers of people affected, so time will tell.

So we avoid both vaccines and the virus like the plague.

I had a client who said "I've aged 10 years in the past year". He is 45 and has more aches and pains and gets musculoskeletal injuries more easily. Since he is a client, it wasn't appropriate for me to ask if he's been vaccinated.

My 5 year old grandson has swollen tonsils and adenoids. Has had about a month. No pain! No strep throat! Probably has had Covid. The ENT specialist said have them removed if not better in a few months. To me, this seems crazy. The purpose of tonsils and adenoids is to fight off infections. or possibly is fighting off spike proteins

Walter, do antibodies wane? Spoke to a friend 70yrs old, tripled. Refused 4th after I had spoken to him. He is part of Oxford University study re antibody titers. Blood taken once a month. Last shot November 21, titers still increasing. He's developing nerve issues currently. No infections he can think of which may boost abs. Thx W

Yup. This is why your late-twenties/ early-thirties daughters who got those jabs probably won't ever give you grandchildren.

The young have an in tact thymus, which may provide a better initial immune response, however I’d still be concerned about any latent effects resurfacing if total clearance of virus isn’t cleared, potentially reactivating later once thymus starts to atrophy during puberty.

UVM? It says UW. You're just testing to see who's awake, right?

The SARS paper is UVM. The mechanism one is UW. Please look at the other, SARS paper I reference.

OK, got it. I can't see where the UVM paper addressed what part of SARS-CoV-2 did the damage, though. Did I miss it? Or is it most likely to be the spike in any case?
